OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 now receiving Android 7.1.1 updates

OnePlus 3T Android 7.0 Nougat

A couple of weeks after OnePlus launched a beta release of Android 7.1.1 for the OnePlus 3T and 3, the full release is ready to go.

OnePlus today unleashed OxygenOS 4.1.0 updates for the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. These updates bump both phones up to Android 7.1.1, the latest official public release of Android. They also include March 1, 2017 security patches, better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and more.

Here’s the full changelog for both updates, straight from OnePlus:

  • Upgraded Android 7.1.1
  • Updated Google security patch to 1st March 2017
  • Added expanded screenshots
  • Improved picture taking of moving objects with blur reduction
  • Improved video stability when recording
  • Improved WiFi connectivity
  • Improved bluetooth connectivity
  • General bug fixes

As with most software updates, these OxygenOS 4.1.0 updates will roll out incrementally. That means that only a small number of OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 users will get their updates today, with larger rollouts happening over the next few days.

Today’s also the day that ZTE is updating the Axon 7 to Android 7.1.1, so it’s awesome to see the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 joining the Axon 7 on Android 7.1.1. Kudos to ZTE and OnePlus for getting these updates out!
