Time to add another major smartphone event to our calendar in the first half of October.
HMD Global has sent out invitations for an event on October 4th. According to the invitation sent to Pocket-lint, HMD Global plans to show "the latest addition to the Nokia smartphone family", but no other details are given.
We'll have to wait until October 4th before we know for sure what HMD Global is planning to announce, but one possibility is the Nokia 7.1 Plus. This device appeared in some leaked renders today, showing a notch, a Nokia-branded chin, and a dual rear camera setup. There's an Android One logo, too, which means it would get regular security updates and two years of OS upgrades, like the Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 6.1 Android One phones that are already available.
October 4th is only a couple of weeks away, so it won't be long before we know everything about HMD's announcement. Stay tuned.
