Samsung Galaxy Note 9 may include 4000mAh battery

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 hands-on video review

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is one of the most hotly anticipated phones of 2018, and now a major spec detail of the device may have been leaked.

The Galaxy Note 9 will pack a 4000mAh battery, according to Twitter user Ice Universe, who adds that they are "100% sure" of their claim. Ice Universe has a history of accurately leaking details of upcoming Samsung devices.

Batteries have been a hot topic with Samsung's Galaxy Note phones in recent years. The Galaxy Note 7 having to be recalled and discontinued due to design flaws related to its 3500mAh battery that caused some units to catch fire, and perhaps as a result of this issue, the Galaxy Note 8 comes with a smaller 3300mAh battery.

A 4000mAh battery in the Note 9 would be a huge upgrade over the Note 8 that could help get consumers more interested in the Note 9, especially if its design is similar to the Note 8 as previous leaks have suggested.

Samsung EP-N6100 wireless charger

In other Samsung battery news, it looks like the company may be prepping an improved fast wireless charger. An FCC entry for a Samsung wireless charger with the model number EP-N6100 hints that an upgraded version of Samsung's current EP-N5100 wireless charger is in the works.

This EP-N6100 wireless charger has an input rating of 12 volts and 2.1 amperes, up from the EP-N5100's input rating of 9 volts and 1.67 amperes. There are no details on when this new wireless charger might launch, but a release alongside a Galaxy Note 9 with a larger battery would make sense.
