Nokia 3.1 now available for pre-order ahead of July 2nd launch

Nokia 3.1 Android One official

Looking for an affordable Android phone? You may want to check out the Nokia 3.1.

Pre-orders for the Nokia 3.1 have begun at Amazon. This Android One smartphone will launch at both Amazon and Best Buy on July 2nd, and it's being sold as an unlocked smartphone that's compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile's networks in the U.S.

Because the Nokia 3.1 is an Android One device, it'll get monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years. It comes with Android 8.0 Oreo, but HMD Global says that the Nokia 3.1 "comes ready for Android P".

In terms of hardware specs, the Nokia 3.1 offers a 5.2-inch 1440x720 display with 18:9 aspect ratio, an 8MP front-facing camera with wide angle lens, and a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. It's also got aluminum sides to help give its design a more premium feel.

Inside the Nokia 3.1 is a 1.25GHz octa-core MediaTek 6750 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There's a microSD card slot in there, too, along with a 2990mAh battery. Also included is a 3.5mm headphone jack so that you can continue using your regular headphones.

Overall, the Nokia 3.1 looks like it could be a solid Android device for consumers in the market for a low-cost phone. Its design looks pretty good, and with Android One, it'll have a steady stream of updates over the next few years.
