Google Assistant gains ability to understand two languages at once

Google Assistant is becoming bilingual.

Google announced today that you can now speak two languages interchangeably and Google Assistant will respond in kind. This feature works with Google Assistant on phones as well as on smart speakers.

To start, you can speak any pair of languages within English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Google plans to add support for more languages in the coming months.

This bilingual support for Google Assistant is pretty nifty. There are many houses that speak multiple languages, and now they can speak to Assistant in two different languages and have it work. This feature could also come in handy if you're learning a new language and want to practice it.
