AT&T today named another city that'll see its mobile 5G coverage this year.
Indianapolis is the 7th city that'll get mobile 5G from AT&T in 2018, joining Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Raleigh, and Waco. AT&T plans to deploy mobile 5G to a total of 12 cities in 2018, but it's unclear what the other 5 cities might be.
AT&T has previously said that its 5G rollout will be based on 3GPP standards and will utilize millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. It plans to deploy 5G on other spectrum bands in the future.
As for the hardware that you'll use to get onto AT&T's 5G network, the big blue carrier has said that it plans to offer "pucks" that are similar to mobile hotspots initially. 5G-enabled smartphones are expected to begin arriving in early 2019.
