Casio WSD-F30 official with Wear OS and rugged design

Casio WSD-F30 Wear OS smartwatch official

Hot on the heels of Google's big Wear OS announcement, Casio has introduced a new Wear OS smartwatch.

The Casio WSD-F30 is now official. This ruggedized smartwatch meets MIL-STD-810G, meaning that it meets the U.S. Department of Defense standard for durability. It can withstand shock, vibration, humidity, low pressure, low temperature, and more. It also offers 5-bar water resistance so that it can get wet and keep working.

Another notable feature of the Casio WSD-F30 is its dual latery display. The normal mode lets the WSD-F30 work as a regular smartwatch, giving you a color display, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. Casio says that this mode will get you a day and a half of battery life. If you need more battery life, you can enable multi-timepiece mode to activate the monochrome LCD. In this mode, only the time and sensor data will be shown, but you'll get one month of battery life on a single charge.

The display on the Casio WSD-F30 is a 1.2-inch 390x390 round screen with color OLED and monochrome LCD. Casio's not spilling many other specs of its new smartwatch, but we do know that the WSD-F30 is smaller than last year's WSD-F20, with the WSD-F30 having a bezel diameter of 49.1mm while the WSD-F20 is 52.9mm. The WSD-F30 is less thick than the WSD-F20, too, with the former measuring 14.9mm thick and the latter coming in at 15.3mm.

The super rugged design of the Casio WSD-F30 may not appeal to everyone, but this looks like a nice smartwatch for folks that like outdoor activity. Not only does it have a toughened design to help it stand up to hiking, biking, and more, but with its monochrome LCD mode, you can take it on an extended camping trip and not have to worry about your smartwatch dying halfway through.

Stay tuned and we'll get you more information on the Casio WSD-F30's specs, launch, and pricing info as soon as we can.
