YouTube has quietly added a notable new feature to its iOS app.
The YouTube app for iOS now supports high dynamic range (HDR) content on the iPhone X. To view HDR content, you can tap the video and then tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen, tap "Quality", and then be sure that a quality with HDR is selected.
Not all content on YouTube is HDR, so you'll need to find some HDR videos if you want to try this feature. One channel you can check out for HDR content is The HDR Channel.
This is a nice addition to the YouTube app that'll help iPhone X owners take full advantage of the edge-to-edge HDR screen on their smartphone. If you've got an iPhone X, load up an HDR video on YouTube and let us know what you think!
