RED teased earlier this year that its upcoming Hydrogen One smartphone would have "unprecedented carrier support", and now we know which carriers will sell the phone.
AT&T and Verizon have confirmed that they'll launch the RED Hydrogen One. AT&T says that it'll launch the device this summer, while Verizon will release the device "later this year." Neither carrier has offered it's pricing details for the Hydrogen One, but when RED opened pre-orders for the device last year, pricing started at $1,195.
The Hydrogen One is the first smartphone from RED, a company known for making high-end video cameras. One of the device's highlight features is its 5.7-inch holographic display that can show 2D and 3D content as well as 4-View holographic content.
RED is also equipping the Hydrogen One with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4500mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and connector pins that'll let you add modules to the device.
It's interesting to see that the Hydrogen One will be coming to both AT&T and Verizon. RED may not be an established player in the mobile space, but apparently AT&T and Verizon are excited enough about RED's first attempt at a smartphone that they want it on their shelves. That could be good news for consumers because, while we don't yet know how AT&T and Verizon will price the Hydrogen One, they could make it easier for consumers to purchase by offering the pricey smartphone on a device payment plan.
