LG G7 ThinQ not launching at AT&T

LG G7 ThinQ

Following yesterday's LG G7 ThinQ announcement, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon all confirmed that they'd sell LG's new flagship. We never heard anything from AT&T, though, and now we know why.

AT&T has confirmed that it will not sell the LG G7 ThinQ. The carrier didn't explain why it has opted not to sell the G7 ThinQ, but it did say that it plans to sell an exclusive LG device later this year.

"We offer a strong lineup of devices from LG today. And we’re planning to launch a new LG device this summer only from AT&T," an AT&T spokesperson told The Verge.

This decision is kind of strange since AT&T has sold many of LG's past devices, including its flagship smartphones. Perhaps the exclusive device that AT&T is planning to sell is some sort of LG G7 ThinQ variant with additional RAM, storage, or some improved feature? We'll just have to wait until this summer to find out what AT&T and LG have planned, as will any AT&T customers that were interested in the LG G7 ThinQ.
