Android figure large

Tomorrow Google I/O 2018 gets underway, and Google is sure to make some big announcements there. Before then, though, some of the details of Google's announcements have leaked.

Google will announce a new set of Android tools that will help people and families manage the time that they spend on mobile devices. That's according to a report from The Washington Post, which adds that Google CEO Sundar Pichai will focus on responsibility during his I/O keynote.

There's been a real focus on device addiction lately, with concerns that some people may be spending too much time staring at their devices and affecting their health in the process. It's good to hear the Google is taking steps to fight smartphone addiction, especially when it comes to parents that want to set limits on their kids screen time.

Details on Google's upcoming Android usage tools are still light, but Google I/O's keynote is tomorrow, so it won't be long before we hear more.

Also said to be in the plans for Google I/O are more features for Google Assistant. These new features will reportedly make Assistant more interactive and more helpful at accomplishing tasks. Google is allegedly prepping new tools for publishers to surface more authoritative search results, too.
