The start of a new month means new Android security patches.
Google today unleashed the May 2018 Android security patches for Nexus and Pixel devices. Those updates should begin rolling out over the air to eligible phones today, but as usual, Google is also providing factory images and OTA images that you can sideload if you don't feel like waiting for the update to be pushed to you.
Also released today is the Android Security Bulletin for May 2018, which details the vulnerabilities that've been patched with Google's latest securit update. There are patches for the Android runtime, media framework, system, and more.
There's a separate Pixel/Nexus Security Bulletin that has a bit of info on the functional patches included in the May 2018 update for Pixel and Nexus devices. Google says that this new update improves the multitouch detection on its Pixel phones and also adjusts the charging behavior on the Pixel XL.
If you've got a Nexus or Pixel phone, you can check for your new update by going into Settings > System > System update. Be sure to let us know when the May 2018 security update hits your device!
