Google has announced some major updates for its apps at I/O 2018, and now it's Google Pay's turn to get a new feature.
Google Pay now supports airline, movie, and concert tickets. The Google Pay app is gaining a Tickets section to hold these new passes. In addition to these tickets, Google Pay can hold your payment cards, loyalty cards, and in select locations, your transit passes.
In addition to adding travel and entertainment tickets, Google Pay supports a messaging field on your actual ticket where you can get live alerts, such as updated departure times, as well as lock screen notifications.
This is a major update for Google Pay that will make it significantly more useful and makes it more similar to Apple Wallet. Now that you can store boarding passes, movie tickets, and concert tickets, you can better integrate Google Pay into your life and rely less on paper tickets.
