Many Chromebooks are affordable devices with specs to match, but there have been some high-end models that've come to market, and soon we may see another launch.
A Chromebook with the codename "Atlas" appears to be in the works with a 4K display. Reddit user -nbsp- discovered a reference to the device in the Chromium boards.yaml file which only includes the name and the screen resolution 3840x2160.
There haven't been a ton of premium Chromebooks that've come to market, but Google has released a few of them over the years. The most recent is the Pixelbook (pictured above), which has a high-end spec list that include 8GB or 16GB of RAM, a Core i5 or Core i7 processor, and a 12.3-inch 2400x1600 display. That's not as high-res as this mysterious Atlas, though, and so this device is one to look forward to for fans of premium Chromebooks.
