Google Tasks app launches on Android and iPhone to help you get things done

Google Tasks app features

Alongside the new Gmail for web, Google today launched an all-new app for mobile users.

Google Tasks is now available for Android and iPhone. The app aims to help you get things done, letting you write to-dos that'll sync across devices and manage and edit your tasks anywhere.

With Google Tasks, you can break down tasks into subtasks, add details, and edit details as your work progresses. You can also set a due date for every task and organize your tasks by date or prioritize them yourself using drag and drop. And to help ensure you get things done, you can receive due date notification reminders for your tasks.

Another feature of Google Tasks is its integration with Gmail and Google Calendar. You can create a tasks directly from an email in Gmail, view your tasks on the side panel of Gmail, and trace a task back to its source email. You can use the Google Tasks app to manage tasks created in Gmail and Google Calendar, too.

Google's already got several productivity apps, including Gmail, Google Keep, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs, so it's kind of a surprise that it took this long for a dedicated Google Tasks app to launch. It's finally happened, though, and it looks like a simple but nice way for users deep in the Google ecosystem to manage their tasks.
