Google beta testing support for non-Google email accounts in Gmail for iOS app

Gmail for iOS non-Google email account support

Google has revealed that it’s testing a major new feature for the Gmail app on iOS.

Google is now accepting beta testers for a new Gmail for iOS feature that’ll let you use non-Google email accounts with the app. This includes Outlook, Yahoo, Yandex, Mail.ru, and others.

If you use the Gmail for iOS app and have a non-Google email account, you can sign up here to test this new feature. Users that are accepted into the test will get an invitation with instructions on how to add your non-Google account to the Gmail for iOS app.

Support for non-Google accounts in the Gmail for iOS app is a nice addition. The Gmail app is an attractive, simple email app for iOS, and support for non-Google email addresses means folks with those accounts can now add their non-Google accounts and maybe cut down on the number of apps they use. Plus, the Android version of Gmail has supported non-Google accounts for awhile now, so it’s nice to see the feature finally coming to iOS.
