Google began taking pre-orders for the Android One Moto X4 on Project Fi after the phone’s debut last month. Now the company has shared an update on the Android One Moto X4’s status, and it’s not great news.
Google says that a “production delay” has pushed back the ship date for the Android One Moto X4 on Project Fi. Many pre-order customers have received this message from Google along with a new estimated ship date of between October 18th and October 25th, a delay of a week or two.
There’s no word on exactly what the “production delay” affecting the Android One Moto X4 is.
Pre-order customers that are planning on trading in a device with their pre-order will still have a full 30 days to send their old phone after the delivery of their Android One Moto X4.
It’s always disappointing when a new phone is delayed, and I’m sure customers that pre-ordered this Android One Moto X4 are bummed. While these delays are huge, they do mean that it’ll be at least a few extra days before some pre-order customers get their shiny new phone. Here’s to hoping that Google’s got this mysterious “production delay” under control now.
