Amazon and Apple haven’t really gotten along with each other when it comes to video services, with Apple hiring a former Amazon Fire TV exec and Amazon stopping sales of the Apple TV. However, the two companies may soon bury the hatchet.
An Amazon Video app is going to launch on Apple TV in the third quarter of this year, say sources speaking to Recode. This means that you could easily watch Amazon Video shows and movies using an app on your Apple TV.
While it is technically possible to get Amazon Video on your Apple TV right now, that requires you to Airplay the video from your iPhone or iPad to an Apple TV. A dedicated Amazon Video app on the Apple TV would be much easier and would surely please any Amazon Video users that also own an Apple TV.
