Cricket Wireless has rolled out a new feature that will improve voice calls for its customers.
Cricket now offers HD Voice, which uses Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology to give you improved voice quality and the ability to browse the web and talk using LTE simultaneously. Cricket’s HD Voice service is currently available on four of the prepaid carrier’s devices:
- Alcatel Idol 4
- LG Escape 3
- Samsung Galaxy Sol 2
- ZTE Grand X 4
To use HD Voice, your phone will need to be on its latest software version. Additionally, both people on the phone call will need to be using one of the four aforementioned devices in order to get HD Voice.
HD Voice is a great feature, giving you much-improved voice quality over standard calls and also letting you browse the web at the LTE speeds that you’re accustomed to while your on the phone. Unfortunately, it’s unclear when Cricket will enable HD Voice on more of its device, but hopefully that’ll happen soon.
