Last month, Samsung confirmed that it will sell refurbished versions of the Galaxy Note 7 in select parts of the globe. The company hasn’t revealed any other details on its release plans, but today a new report claims to have more info.
Samsung is planning to release its refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea at the end of June, reports ETNews. The device is expected to cost 700,000 won ($616 USD), which is a drop from the Note 7’s original price tag of 989,890 won ($870 USD).
This refurbished Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be called the Galaxy Note 7 R. The device will likely offer the same features as the original Note 7, including a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, and 12-megapixel rear camera. However, it’ll reportedly have a smaller battery, packing a 3200mAh battery rather than the 3500mAh battery found in the original model that suffered from overheating due to battery issues.
Unfortunately for those of us not in South Korea, it’s unclear when or if Samsung will offer the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 in other parts of the globe. We do know that it won’t be sold in the US, though. The good news is that Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ are now on store shelves, so anyone that wants a high-end Samsung phone can take a look at those devices if they can’t get a Note 7.
