Google has diversified its product lineup quite a bit over the past year, adding products like the Google Home smart speaker and the Google Wifi router. Now it looks like Google may be cooking up some new headphones, too.
An entry for Google-branded Bluetooth headphones has appeared in the FCC. The listing includes several images of the headphones, which feature Google’s signature four colors in a circle on each ear cup.
According to the user manual included with the FCC entry, these headphones are model number GID5B and feature Bluetooth, ANC (active noise cancellation), a 3.5mm headphone jack, volume buttons, and a multi-function button (MFB) that you press to answer calls and play/pause music. The headphones charge over microUSB and feature a 600mAh battery.

What’s still unclear is what these headphones are for. Based on what we can learn from this FCC listing, they appear to be a fairly regular pair of Bluetooth headphones. The wireless headphone market doesn’t seem like something that Google would get into unless it had a product with some sort of special feature.
