We never heard anything about a U.S. launch for the Motorola One following the device's debut a couple of months ago, but today it's been revealed that the Moto device is indeed coming stateside.
The Motorola One is now available for pre-order from Best Buy. The device comes with 64GB of built-in storage and a microSD slot for adding more storage, and color options include black and white. Pricing is set at $399.99.
Motorola's One is being sold unlocked, and it includes support for GSM networks. This means it should work with AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.
As a refresher, the Motorola One is equipped with a 5.9-inch 1520x720 display, and it's got a notch at the top of its screen that houses an 8MP camera. Around back there's a dual camera setup with 13MP and 2MP cameras, and the Motorola logo on the rear doubles as a fingerprint reader.
Inside the Motorola One is 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. There's a 3000mAh battery, and thanks to Motorola's TurboPower feature, you can get up to 6 hours of battery life with a 20-minute charge. And while some phones are ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack, the Motorola One includes that feature.
One other feature of the Motorola One that's worth mentioning is its Android One software. Motorola has said that the Android Oreo phone comes with "the essential Android OS and moto experiences" and that it'll get two Android OS updates as well as monthly security patches for three years.
Motorola has a history of offering solid Android phones at affordable prices, and while the Motorola One isn't the cheapest phone Moto has ever offered, it still looks like an interesting device. The design is nice, the specs are respectable, and the Android One means that buyers can be confident that they'll get OS and security updates.
What do you think of the Motorola One? Are you thinking about picking one up?
