Samsung opened its One UI beta to the Galaxy S9 and S9+ earlier this month, and now it's extended to another flagship.
Samsung's One UI beta is now available to the Galaxy Note 9. Specifically, some owners of the unlocked Galaxy Note 9 in the U.S. have begun getting into the One UI beta through the latest Samsung+ app. Users on both Sprint and Verizon have joined the program so far, but they've all had the unlocked Note 9 with the model numebr SM-N960U1.
If you've got an unlocked Galaxy Note 9 in the U.S. and you'd like to try Samsung's Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI, go to APK Mirror to get the latest version of the Samsung+ app and be on the lookout for the beta alert.
One UI brings several improvements to Samsung's custom user interface. These include a system-wide dark mode and a regrouped Settings app that'll show your most used settings toggles first. Samsung is also working to make its UI easier to navigate on big phones, which should be useful on the Note 9 and its 6.4-inch display. Samsung does this by keeping the relevant content that you interact with on the bottom half of the screen, while placing the content you want to view in the upper half.
Samsung has said that it will run a beta test of One UI starting this month. It plans to begin updating the Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy Note 9 to One UI in January 2019.
