After Google Home calling came to the U.S. and Canada late last year, it's now making its way to another major country.
Google Home calling has rolled out in the U.K. The feature was originally supposed to launch in late 2017, but Google says that it "needed more time to deliver the best experience."
In order to make voice calls with your Google Home, you'll need Google Home firmware version 1.28.99351 or higher as well as Google app version 7.17 or higher. You'll also need to have your Google Account linked to your Google Home and ensure that your Google Assistant's language is setin to English (United States), English (United Kingdom), Canadian English, or French Canadian.
Once you meet all of those requirements, you can just ask Google Home to call the name of a business or person in your contact list and it'll ring them up. You can also ask Google to call a phone number by speaking the digits. One type of call that isn't supported by Google Home is an emergency call, meaning you can't ask your Google Home to dial 999 or 112.
