Best Buy will reportedly stop selling Huawei phones

Huawei has had some bad luck when it comes to selling its phones in the U.S. this year, and now it looks like that bad luck is continuing.

Best Buy has decided to stop selling Huawei phones, says a report from CNET. The retailer is no longer ordering more phones from Huawei and will stop selling its devices altogether once its current stock runs dry.

Neither Best Buy nor Huawei declined to confirm this news, only saying that they don't comment on specific relationships. "We make decisions to change what we sell for a variety of reasons," a Best Buy spokeswoman added.

Earlier this year, rumors said that both AT&T and Verizon backed out of deals to sell Huawei's flagship Mate 10 Pro due to pressure from the U.S. government and security concerns. Huawei did eventually launch an unlocked version of the device at several U.S. retailers, including Best Buy, but now it sounds like BBY may no longer stock Huawei's phones.

Huawei is a major smartphone manufacturer with a large international presence. The company has never been able to gain much traction in the U.S., though, and companies ending agreements to sell its phones won't help. There are still some major retailers that do sell Huawei products, like Amazon and Newegg, but if Best Buy has decided to stop selling Huawei devices, that's pretty disappointing for Huawei.
