Days after adding chat backup, Incognito Mode for groups, and more to Allo, Google is updating its messaging app with another new feature.
Google Allo now offers personalized sticker packs. The feature tasks you with taking a selfie and then the app will use neural networks and the work of artists like Lamar Abrams to create a personalized sticker pack starring you. Google says that there are more than 563 quadrillion combinations of features that the Allo app can create.
Once your illustration is generated, you can customize it further if you’d like. When you’re done, you’ll end up with 22 custom stickers that you can use inside Google Also.
This feature is now rolling out to Android users, so if you’ve got Allo, keep an eye out for a new app update. Google says that personalized sticker packs will be coming to Allo on iOS soon.
Allo’s new personalized sticker packs look pretty nifty. It’s cool how the app is able to combine machine learning with illustrations made by a real person to create a personalized sticker that looks like you, then give you a bunch of other stickers of yourself in different poses and with different reactions. And while the feature itself may not drive folks to use Allo if they weren’t already, this could help existing users become more attached to Allo.
