Honor's newest flagship smartphone is now official.
The Honor 10 has been officially announced. This high-end device is packing a 5.84-inch 2280x1080 display with a fingerprint reader below it and a notch at the top of the screen. That notch is home to a 24MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Around back there's a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP color sensor and 24MP monochrome sensor. The dual rear cameras offer several special features, including a portrait mode that'll add a blurry background to your photos and a studio lighting feature that'll let you add dramatic lighting to your images. The Honor 10 supports augmented reality, too.
Inside the Honor 10 is an octa-core Kirin 970 processor, just like in the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro. There are different models of the Honor 10 with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage. Whatever version you choose, though, you'll get features like NFC, dual SIM slots, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack — which is a feature that Huawei's flagship P20 lacks — and a 3,400mAh battery.
The Honor 10 comes preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo running below Huawei's custom EMUI 8.1 user interface.
When it comes to availability, the Honor 10 will go on sale in China this month, with pricing set at 2599 yuan ($414 USD) for the 6GB/64GB model and 2999 yuan ($478 USD) for the 6GB/128GB mode. There's no word on when or if the Honor 10 will be sold outside of China.
The Honor 10 looks like a solid device from the Huawei sub-brand. It's got flagship-tier specs like a large display with slim bezels, a dual rear camera setup, a high-end processor, and lots of RAM, and it comes in some pretty cool colors. The price is competitive, too, as the Huawei P20 starts at around $800 USD. Considering all that, consumers in the market for a new device may want to consider the Honor 10.
