Sony today introduced three new Xperia smartphones at CES 2018, and they've all got one thing in common: a focus on selfies.
The Sony Xperia XA2 is packing an 8-megapixel front camera with a 120-degree wide angle lens, and around back there's a 23-megapixel camera with a 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS for mobile image sensor. The Xperia XA2 has a fingerprint reader on its back rather than its side like many other Xperia phones.
The display on the Xperia XA2 is a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 panel with slim bezels on the left and right. There's a Snapdragon 630 processor inside the XA2 as well as 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 3,300mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra steps things up in a couple of ways. First, it's got dual front cameras, with one 16-megapixel sensor that's equipped with OIS as well as an 8-megapixel sensor with a 120-degree wide angle lens. There's also a 23-megapixel shooter on the back of the XA2 Ultra with a fingerprint reader below it.
The XA2 Ultra's screen is a 6-inch 1920x1080 display, and the battery is a beefier 3,580mAh pack. There's also 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of storage, and a microSD card slot in there, and the processor is a Snapdragon 630.
Then there's the Xperia L2, the entry-level model of the group. It's got a 13-megapixel rear camera and a rear fingerprint reader. There's an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with a 120-degree wide angle lens, too.
Other features of the Xperia L2 include a 5.5-inch 1280x720 screen, MediaTek MT6737T processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. A 3,300mAh battery powers this entire package.
The Sony Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra will begin shipping in February 2018 with Android 8.0 Oreo in tow. The Xperia L2 will launch in late January 2018 with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. No pricing details are available yet.
