Some OnePlus 5 owners have encountered a serious issue with their new smartphone.
It’s been discovered that a bug is causing some OnePlus 5 units to reboot when dialing 911. A video showing the problem has been posted online, depicting a OnePlus 5 attempting to dial 911 before rebooting on its own.
OnePlus has issued a statement regarding this bug, telling The Verge “We have contacted the customer and are currently looking into the issue. We ask anyone experiencing a similar situation to contact us at support@oneplus.net.”
This is a pretty serious bug, as 911 is used for emergency situations. If you’ve got a OnePlus 5 suffering from this issue, though, you could be unable to reach emergency services. It’s good that OnePlus is aware of the issue, and hopefully the company can get a fix out quickly.
