Which devices do you see most out in the wild?

Samsung Galaxy S8

I don't know about you, but when I go out to a public place I have a tendency to pay attention to all the smartphones I see. It's just an unconscious thing at this point, because I've been doing it so long. It started years ago, and it ramps up when new phones get released.

I can still remember trying to find, and tally, how many Microsoft Kins I would see out in the wild. It was, and remains, zero. Poor Kin.

But it is fun to try and see which devices are being used out there in the real world. We hear all the time about sales numbers, about there being hundreds of thousands of this device and millions of that other device. Of course, line-of-sight is far from an accurate or scientific approach to see how popular a phone is, but it's fun when you see one for the first time.

And speaking of for the first time, I saw my first Galaxy S8 last night. The best part about it was that it was immediately recognizable. That full screen approach is eye-catching. Plus, the person that owned it had the screen brightness cranked to what I can only assume is some special "ridiculous" setting, so it was like a mini sun floating around.

I see a lot of iPhones, of course. And a lot of Android phones that even I can't immediately recognize. Seeing a Galaxy S8, especially so soon after its launch, is pretty unique. I haven't seen an LG G6 yet. I haven't ever seen a Huawei phone, and I actually never saw a Galaxy Note 7 in the wild, either. (Which is probably a good thing.)

I haven't seen a red iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, yet, either.

If you happen to pay attention to smartphones out in the wild, whether it's all the time or just when you see one that stands out to you, what's one handset that you've seen out there that surprised you? One you didn't expect to see. Let me know!
