New Fitbit smartwatch leak includes image and details

Fitbit smartwatch leak 2017

Fitbit is reportedly planning to launch a new smartwatch this fall, but today the upcoming device has been revealed in full thanks to a new leak.

The new Fitbit smartwatch is said to be codenamed “Higgs,” and it looks like an updated version of the Fitbit Blaze that launched last year. The wearable is reportedly going to offer a color display with 1,000 nits of brightness, GPS, a heart rate monitor, support for touchless payments, and Pandora music playback. The watch’s battery will allegedly last four days before needing to be recharged.

All of those features will be packed into an aluminum unibody case with swappable watch bands. Fitbit is said to be aiming for a fall launch, with the new smartwatch coming with a price tag of $300.

This new Fitbit smartwatch looks a bit nicer than the Blaze, but it’s definitely still a Fitbit-style wearable, so it’s unlikely that the wearable will appeal to folks that haven’t been into Fitbits in the past. At $300, this Fitbit would be pricier than last year’s Blaze and would be up against devices like the Apple Watch and LG Watch Sport, so it’s definitely going to face some fierce competition if the details in today’s report come true.

Also leaked today is an image of a pair of Bluetooth headphones codenamed “Parkside.” These wireless earbuds are expected to launch alongside Fitbit’s smartwatch at a price of $150 and will reportedly be available in Nightfall Blue (pictured below) and Lunar Gray color options.
