A lot of smartphones released these days are made of glass, which looks nice but isn’t the most rugged material out there. If you’re more interested in a phone that’s tough, AT&T’s got a new phone for you.
The LG X venture is launching at AT&T on May 26 at a price of $11 per month for 30 months. It’ll also launch in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Africa in the weeks to come.
This Android device is all about the active lifestyle, boasting a textured rubber backside, metal frame, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The X venture has also been MIL-STD 810G tested for resistance to things like shock and extreme temperatures.
Also included with the LG X venture is Outdoor Essentials, an app that includes six tools. They are a barometer, compass, activity counter, exercise tracker, weather reporter, and flashlight. LG has also thrown in Glove Mode so that you can use the X venture without exposing your fingers to the elements.
When it comes to raw specs, the LG X Venture is running Android 7.0 on a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display. It’s got a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera with a wide angle lens, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, a Snapdragon 435 processor, and 2GB of RAM. There’s a 4100mAh battery powering the whole package.
