When we reviewed the Honor 6X earlier this year, we found the device to have great hardware but less-than-great software. The software will soon see some improvements, though.
Honor has announced the Android 7.0 Nougat and EMUI 5.0 update for the Honor 6X. The update is now in the process of rolling out, and you should see it on your device some time between now and late May.
As for what’s included, you should expect Nougat-y goodness like multi-window support and quick replies from the notifications. Honor is also touting a simplified user interface with a blue and white color scheme, smoother performance, and security improvements. The move to EMUI 5.0 brings with it an app drawer, a refreshed task manager, and more.
This sounds like a pretty great update for the Honor 6X. The device is already attractive thanks to its combination of solid hardware and a $250 price tag, and so this Android 7.0 update could make it into an even better choice for consumers in the market for an affordable smartphone.
