ZTE Axon 7 owners, if you're hungry for an Oreo treat, we've got some good news for you.
ZTE has announced that it's opened its Android Oreo beta program for the Axon 7. To register for the beta, you'll need to sign up through ZTE's Z-Community forum.
The Android Oreo update for the ZTE Axon 7 will be a near-stock version of Android and will include several improvements:
- Improved battery life
- View two apps at once through picture-in-picture (PiP) mode
- Google Play Protect, which scans over 50 billion apps per day to ensure your device is safe
- Notification dots to quickly see what’s new
- Faster boot speed when powering on the device
- Android Instant apps, allowing users to get into apps without having to install
- Minimized background activity in the applications used least
- Autofill, which, with user permission, remembers logins to important apps
Considering that the Axon 7 originally launched with Marshmallow, it's pretty great to see ZTE continue to support the device with an upgrade to Oreo. There's no word yet on when the full update will be released, but if you're interested in being one of the first to use Oreo on the Axon 7, you can join the beta through ZTE's Z-Community.
