ESPN Plus streaming service launching this spring for $4.99 per month

We've seen a lot of video streaming services emerge in recent years, including some that aggregate many channels and some that come from a single channel or network. This week, details on another major single network service came to light.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has spilled some details on ESPN Plus, the first dedicated streaming service from ESPN. ESPN Plus will cost $4.99 per month, Iger has revealed, and it'll be part of a redesigned ESPN app.

ESPN Plus will offer live programming that's not normally available on any of its channels. It's expected that the service will show around 10,000 events every year and will include content from the MLB, NHL, MLS, college sports, and tennis' Grand Slam events.

Unfortunately for big fans of live sports, ESPN Plus won't include traditional ESPN channels, so you'll need to be a traditional ESPN subscriber if you want to get all of the sporting events that it shows on channels like ESPN and ESPN2. If you're a huge sports addict and want even more events than what you can find on traditional ESPN channels, though, ESPN Plus may be worth checking out this spring.
