Verizon offering free international roaming for customers attending the Winter Olympics

There's a lot of excitement about the upcoming Winter Olympics, and Verizon has announced that it wants to help its customers that are attending the games in South Korea to stay connected.

Verizon customers traveling to South Korea in February can get Verizon's TravelPass for free. With TravelPass, you can use your talk, text, and data allotment internationally just like you can while in the U.S. This normally costs $5 per day per device in Mexico and Canada and $10 per day in other countries.

There is a catch with this offer that you should be aware of. To get it, you'll need to enroll in Verizon's rewards program, Verizon Up, by January 28th. If you don't enroll in Verizon Up, you can get free TravelPass for one day on February 9th.

Verizon Up is the carrier's rewards program. For every $300 you spend on your monthly Verizon Wireless bills, you get 1 credit that can be redeemed for any one reward. Some examples of rewards offered by the Verizon Up program include tickets to concerts and sporting events, discounted mobile accessories, bonus data, and more.
