Less than six months after launching its first 600MHz LTE cell sites, T-Mobile says that that 600MHz coverage is now live in more than 500 cities.
T-Mobile announced today that its 600MHz LTE coverage is now live in 586 cities and towns across the U.S. This includes cities like La Grande, Ore.; Carter Lake, Iowa; Marvell, Ark.; and West Chazy, N.Y.
You can find the full list of T-Mobile 600MHz LTE cities right here.
To utilize this 600MHz coverage, you'll need a device that supports it. Both the LG V30 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Active currently support 600MHz LTE on T-Mobile, and T-Mo says that it plans to launch more than 12 new 600MHz-capable devices in 2018, including budget-friendly phones and superphones.
The 600MHz coverage helps T-Mobile's LTE signal to travel farther and better penetrate buildings, so it's notable that T-Mo has spread the coverage so far. And while only a couple T-Mo phones support 600MHz right now, we'll see many more in the new year, so those of you in the market for a new T-Mobile phone may want to keep an eye out for one that's 600MHz-compatible.
Also of note today is that T-Mobile has confirmed that it's closed its purchase of the remaining assets of Iowa Wireless from Aureon. With this deal, T-Mobile can broaden its LTE coverage in Iowa and western Illinois.
