Sony is reportedly prepping a few new Xperia smartphones for an official debut soon, but before their announcement, they've been revealed by the rumor mill.
The Sony Xperia XA2, Xperia XA2 Ultra, and Xperia L2 have all been leaked by VentureBeat. All three devices are expected to be entry-level to mid-range hardware and boast the Xperia design that we've become familiar with in recent years, complete with large top and bottom bezels.
According to benchmark tests that allegedly belong to these devices, the Xperia XA2 (above) will come equipped with a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. There's also said to be a 21-megapixel rear camera with 4K video capture and a 7-megapixel front camera, with Android Oreo on the software side of things.
The Xperia XA2 Ultra (above, colors) is the bigger sibling to the regular XA2, packing a 6-inch 1920x1080 display, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. It does feature the same Snapdragon 630 processor, 21-megapixel rear camera, and 7-megapixel front camera as the XA2, though.
Finally, the Xperia L2 (below) is expected to have a 5.2-inch 1280x720 display and Android Nougat.
All three of these new Xperia phones will reportedly be officially introduced soon, but it's unclear if we'll meet them next week at CES or next month at MWC.
While none of these new Sony phones will blow you away with their specs, they do look like respectable updates to Sony's more affordable Xperia lineup. That's important because not everyone needs top of the line smartphone hardware. Whenever they're announced, these Xperia devices will be options for those consumers to consider.
