Google Assistant will appear on Lenovo Smart Display and other smart screens, Android Auto

Google's got a big presence at CES 2018, and today the company revealed why.

Google Assistant is expanding to many new devices. Google today revealed that Assistant is coming to new voice-activated speakers from a variety of manufacturers, including Altec Lansing, Anker Innovations, Bang & Olufsen, Braven, iHome, JBL, Jensen, LG, Klipsch, Knit Audio, Memorex, RIVA Audio and SōLIS.

Assistant will also be making its way to smart screens. Later this year, we'll see devices from JBL, Lenovo, LG, and Sony with displays and Google Assistant.

Lenovo has already revealed its Smart Display, which will be available with an 8-inch screen for $199.99 and a 10-inch screen for $249.99 this summer. The Lenovo Smart Display also features a Qualcomm SDA 624 system on a chip (SoC) with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 10-watt full-range speaker.

In addition to appearing on new speakers that can be placed around your home, Google Assistant is coming soon to your car. Starting this week, Google Assistant is coming to Android Auto. You'll simply need to connect your Android phone to a supported car and be good to go. Google also says that it's working with auto makers to integrate Assistant into their cars, eliminating the need for a phone.

Rounding out today's announcements is that cars from Kia and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will soon allow you to do things like check your fuel level, lock doors, and more using Google Assistant on your phone, speaker, or TV.
