TCL has some big plans for its Alcatel family of Android smartphones, and today the company teased what it's got in store.
TCL says that it's got a "new smartphone philosophy and product portfolio direction" for its Alcatel smartphone business. We're not getting much in the way of details today, but TCL does say that its new devices will have "re-imagined product designs" and 18:9 displays across the entire family.
The Alcatel 5 Series of phones are affordable flagship-style devices, and TCL says that they'll include features like 18:9 screens, face unlock, "fantastic imaging", and a large battery.
Meanwhile, the Alcatel 3 Series aims to combine trendy features and affordability. These devices will offer features like dual camera setups and large, high-res 18:9 displays.
Rounding things out is the affordable Alcatel 1 Series of phones. Expect these devices to offer unibody hardware with premium materials, face unlocking, and 18:9 screens.
TCL plans to share more details on its refreshed Alcatel family of smartphones at Mobile World Congress, which will happen February 26th through March 1st.
