iOS 11.1.2 update released to address iPhone X unresponsiveness in cold

iPhone X front

One week after some iPhone X owners found that their phones became unresponsive when taken out into the cold, Apple has addressed the problem with a software update.

iOS 11.1.2 is now available for download. To grab it, go into Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and the OTA download should appear.

As for what's included, Apple says that iOS 11.1.2 brings a fix for "an issue where the iPhone X becomes temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid temperature drop." The update also squashes a bug that'd cause distortion in Live Photos and videos captured with the iPhone X.

This is a rather minor update, but with winter inching closer for a lot of people, it's important that Apple pushed out a fix for this iPhone X cold weather issue quickly.
