Google Lens officially rolling out to Pixel phones

Google Lens official Pixel phones

A few weeks after Google Lens first began rolling out to Pixel phones, Google has confirmed that the deployment is officially beginning.

Google is now pushing Google Lens to all Pixel phones set to English in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, India, and Singapore. The rollout will happen over the coming weeks.

You can activate Google Lens by going to Google Assistant and tapping the Lens icon in the bottom right corner. Google Lens has a range of features in its arsenal, like the ability to look up products by barcode, scan QR codes, and save information like business cards and phone numbers by scanning the text.

Google Lens will also let you point your phone's camera at real world objects to learn more about them. You can use Lens on landmarks to learn more about their history, scan a movie poster to get the trailer and reviews, or scan a book to see its rating and a synopsis.

Google Lens sounds like a nifty addition to Google's Pixel phones. You could do a lot of the same things by typing things out on your phone, like the name of a movie or a person's contact info, but Lens helps you do those tasks much faster. Plus it can help you identify objects that you don't know much about, like a new landmark that you don't know the name of.

If you've got a Google Pixel, have you gotten Google Lens yet?
