Google Pixel 3 XL reportedly shows off its notch in new photo leak

Google Pixel 3 XL photos leak

Get excited, Pixel fans, because today we may be getting our first good look at one of Google's upcoming flagship Android phones.

Photos that claim to show the Google Pixel 3 XL have leaked, showing a device that looks similar to that screen protector that leaked out last month. There's a notch up at the top of the phone with two camera cutouts, and at the bottom of the phone is a chin that'll help give room for the front speakers. We can also see the codename "crosshatch" display on the screen.

The back of this Pixel 3 XL looks fairly a lot like the Pixel 2 XL. There's a single rear camera with some sort of sensor in-between it and the flash, a fingerprint reader below it, and logo that looks like an O with a line through the middle. That logo is likely just meant to hide the fact that this is a Google prototype.

While still unofficial, the device shown in these leaked photos does line up with other Pixel 3 XL rumors that we've heard. The appearance of a notch is sure to frustrate some, but it could help Google squeeze a bit more screen real estate into a body that's of a similar size to the Pixel 2 XL. And hey, if you really don't like the notch, you could choose to go with the Pixel 3 instead, which is expected to be notch-less.

The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to launch in October.
