iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus RAM and battery sizes revealed

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus colors official

Apple spilled many of the spec details of its new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus earlier this week, including info on the devices’ screen sizes and cameras. Some of the more technical details of the new iPhones were omitted, but now more spec info on the phones appears to have been revealed.

TENAA, which is sort of like China’s version of the FCC, has posted RAM and battery details for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone 8 (A1863) features 2GB of RAM and a 1821mAh battery while the iPhone 8 Plus (A1864) is packing 3GB of RAM and a 2675mAh battery.

To compare, the iPhone 7 features 2GB of RAM and a 1960mAh battery while the iPhone 7 Plus has 3GB of RAM and a 2900mAh battery.

Apple says that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus batteries last “about the same” amount of time as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The company has never officially confirmed the amount of RAM and battery sizes of these iPhone models, though.

If true, it’s kind of disappointing that the battery sizes of Apple’s new phones shrunk a bit compared to their predecessors. The changes aren’t huge, but battery life is a major concern for many smartphone owners. At least the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus battery life will be about the same as the previous models, though, despite their smaller batteries.
